Would you suggest next step(s), if any?
It would be nice to have a test for these annotations, but a proper
test would require at least one race detector to be installed in the
test system. Any suggestion?

I just submitted http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=45276 for
the documentation (Bart, Frank, you are not in CC of this bug because
you are not registered in gcc bugzilla).
