Question on ELIX_LEVEL

Subject: Question on ELIX_LEVEL

Hi,
There is newlib configuration option --enbale-newlib-elix-level, which
is set to 0 by default.
The question is what do all these levels mean? Are there any rules in
setting the level?
How should I decide to set it to which level?

I searched around and only found it is something used by elix. Any help?
