The complexities of inserting jumps are highly architecture-specific.
x86/x86-64 are unusually complicated because of their variable-sized
instructions. Pursuit of solutions for each architecture is largely
independent (though several RISCs might be quite similar), so it ought to
proceed in parallel by people expert in each architecture.
