- Reply-to: sourceware-bugzilla at sourceware dot org
In loc2c.c, there are several definitions of nested inline functions, but they
are not visible to stap. For example, translate() has a nested function called
deepen(), yet:
$ stap -l 'process("stap").function("deepen")'
semantic error: no match while resolving probe point
process("stap").function("deepen")
We get our functions from elfutils' dwarf_getfuncs(), but that function only
looks at the direct children of the CU. For nested functions, the subprogram
DIE occurs as a child of the function that contains it.
Finding nested functions will probably require scanning through the DIEs within
each discovered function, but that will probably slow us down quite a bit.
