I use version 1.3 on RHEL 5.4 and 5.5. Simply install the matching kernel-debug-info RPMs and compile systemtap from the tarball.

I get the RPMs from here: ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/5Server/en/os/x86_64/Debuginfo/
