I think the largest magnifications could go away if they were replaced by
a clicable enlarged image of the current cell (like to the left of the
information display on current unit). This would enable players to do
stuff to the current cell without zooming, which is practical, and would
be, I hope, easier to implement than the real zoom. 

BTW, Tk interface is *nifty*, event for those of us that are not too fond
of Tk. Really nice. I only hope the missing feautres will be implemented
soon (solid color representation of terrain, standing orders dialog).
