"The GTK+ hexmap widget can be used for displaying and manipulating
hexmaps in various computer games. It will handle background pixmaps,
hexagon grids, and translation of button presses to hex coordinates. And
maybe more features."
Feel free to check it out. It says it runs on Linux only, the project
status is pre-alpha, and they haven't done a file release since Feb.
2001. Probably a dead end, but those of you interested in GTK and Glide
might find it a useful starting point. I myself am not interested.
