I guess I get to look forward to another wave of spam now. :-)

You have not seen this problem occur with any other game?
Do the freezes happen when an AI is playing, or do they seem to happen
when you are playing?

On a system with protected memory and whatnot, this is fairly hard to
imagine, unless there are other factors involved such as a flaky video
card or some sort of faulty in-kernel video support. Furthermore, this
does not seem to happen on my development system.

If you are using Linux when this happens, can you give some details
about your kernel: which version (particularly, is it a 2.4 or 2.6),
does it have NPTL support, does it have DRM support? And some other
details: what version of Tcl and is it compiled for multithreading, and
what version of XFree86 and which of its extension modules are loaded?

  Thanks,
    Eric
