Nope: too bad. XSLT doesn't support wildcards or regular expressions. Try:
<xsl:template match="img">
<xsl:if test="substring(@src, string-length(@src) - 2) = 'gif'">
<img src={@src}.wbmp"/>
</xsl:if>
</xsl:template>
