In popular American idiom, it's called "taking one for the team." :-)

(Referring, for the non-Baseball inclined, to the situation
 where a batter conciously leans into an oncoming pitch
 and lets it hit his body. The penalty for throwing a pitch
 that hits a batter is that all the runners on the
 bases get to advance one base! A might painful, but if it
 scores the winning run, it's worth it).
