RE: Vendor-specific data-types


XPath says (section 1) that the value of an expression may be "of additional
types not specified here".

Beyond that, I can only fall back on the defense that everything is allowed
unless the spec prohibits it; and it doesn't prohibit vendor-defined data
types.
