You could use
http://www.bayes.co.uk/xml/index.xml?/xml/utils/dirtoxml.xml to get a
representation of a directory tree and then use a transform like
http://www.bayes.co.uk/xml/index.xml?/xml/utils/xmltoftp.xml to write a
script file to do the transformations
