Hi,
you should convert the spreadsheet into a xml document
<descriptions>
<description code="1">
...
</description>
</descriptions>
then you may reference this document from your stylesheet by setting
up a
variable
<xsl:variable name="descr"
select="document('descriptions.xml')/descriptions"/>
and refer to the description for the current node by using
<xsl:variable name="code" select="@code"/>
<xsl:value-of select="$descr/description[@code=$code]"/>
