If a character doesn't display correctly, the usual reason is that the
software that you are using to display it doesn't know what encoding it is
in. Make sure that the output encoding of your XSLT result, and the
encoding
expected by your display software (e.g. editor/browser) are the same.

I have ran tests on NT and unix with the same components.  When I display
the output from unix in IE5 the euro symbol is ?, the nt xml file displays
the euro symbol properly in IE5.  I don't know how I should go about fixing
this given, the charcater encodding must match between output and display
software?
