Here's an example:
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:ora="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java"
exclude-result-prefixes="ora">
<xsl:variable name="x">
<foo>
<bar>
<baz>10</baz>
<baz>12</baz>
</bar>
</foo>
</xsl:variable>
<xsl:template match="/">
<answer>
<xsl:value-of select="ora:node-set($x)/foo/bar/baz[2]"/>
</answer>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
This outputs:
<answer>12</answer>
if you run it on any input document.
