Assigning value to xsl:variable through JavaScript

Hi!,

I want to assign a value from the URL query string to an <xsl:variable>
element. I used JavaSCript to get the value I need, but I am not able to
pass this value to the <xsl:variable> element. Is there anyway I can achieve
this on the client without using JSP? I am on Tomcat 4.0 with Xerces and
Xalan-j_2_0_1.

Thanks!
Madhavan
