In XSLT you don't! Variables cannot have their value changed once
they're set... It's a feature of functional programming.
How can we help you solve the underlying problem?

Hi,
if you have
<xsl:variable name="defaultMessageA" >123</xsl:variable>
and you want to change the value of defaultMessageA to 345, how do you
do it?
tnx.
