Of course it can be.  We're talking about software here and you all are
treating it as if the limitations were physical laws.  If this is a big
deal then we *could* come up with ways to ensure that it was reversible.

But, regardless, cygwin/x upgrade wasn't really reversible.  People had
a hard time getting back to the previous cygwin/x state, which was just
as well since we reall wanted people to be using the new version.
