I have been testing the trial releases (currently 1.68) on my NT WS at home.
I have found only one problem, which I expect will be solved at some point.
Therefore, I want to explore installing this on our network at the office,
once we actually GET a network at the office! (We are still running a Unix
SysV, Rel.2.2 time-sharing system there).

In an ealier post somebody suggested that all you needed to do for a network
was to install the software on the Server. However, Global Technologies has
a rather confusing pricing scheme that I would like to sort out. Yes, I
suppose I could talk to them, but then, I would get the "sales pitch"
instead of useful information.

What I need to know is what I have to have to run the "Base Environment" on
our server. They offer a WS version for $249 and a Server version for $499.
What, if anything, is the difference? What does an 80% higher price get
you? On top of that, do you need copies of the WS edition for each Client,
or does the Server version take care of that? If the latter, it could
explain the higher price.

What about software development? I am the only one who would be doing that.
Could I buy the WS version and install it on the Server for my use or would
I have to put it on the Client or what?

While we are on the subject, why is the price of the WS version twice the
price of the W95/98 versions?

Bob
