Actually, it's a pointer to a function.
It looks like __infinity is being improperly exported by cygwin1.dll,
and not being properly imported by your application. I'll look into
it, unless you want to ;-)
Try changing math.h to be like this for now:
extern __declspec(dllimport) const union __dmath __infinity;
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
