Re: xemacs for cygwin lacks dired and shell functionality


This reply is a bit premature, but it is a fact that
xemacs-21.1.9.tar.gz and the associated .elc.tar.gz
created lisp/dired directory with no files in it,
hence 
dired could not work. Secondly, when I type
M-x shell
it calls shell-command instead of spawning a shell

When attemping to use shell-command to do an ls I am
told: "No such file or directory: /bin/sh^M"

I am now downloading xemacs-21.2.35 and looking to see
if dired is in there...
