- Subject: exim 4.10
Exim 4.10 is available in setup as a test release.
Exim is a powerful Mail Transfer Agent with a sendmail
compatible command line. Its site is www.exim.org.
The openssl library is required and must be explicitly selected
in setup if you don't already have it (as Youssef El Dakar noticed).
Run the script /usr/bin/exim-config to configure your site for exim.
On Windows 95, 98 and ME, exim exposes a bug in cygwin-1.3.12
where sockets are not released properly. After reception of
several/many [system dependent] messages, the mail daemon and other
networking programs run out of sockets or buffers. This condition
can be cleared simply by killing the mail daemon.
If you already have exim from other sources, note that file
locations have changed:
/usr/local/exim/configure ==> /etc/exim.conf
/usr/local/exim/spool/log ==> /var/log/exim
/usr/local/exim/spool ==> /var/spool/exim
/var/mail ==> /var/spool/mail
