are you using g++ for the linking stage as well as the compilation?
My WAG is that you're not, and that you're missing the C++ library during
the link as a result. Try using g++ to link.

Try posting the following:
* A small part of the source files that generates the error
* the command you used to compile & link it (i.e. a Makefile)
* the output of cygcheck as per http://cygwin.com/problems.html (please
read carefully for the options to cygcheck to use and the way to send
this info)
