Error message when compling simple program, help please :)

Hi guys,

First time emailing a community like this, hopefully it works. I just installed cygwin using the setup program available on the website and I'm trying to copile a program I have from the Sams publishing "teach yourself C in 24 hours book"

The program is the following:

#include <stdio.h>

  printf ("Howdy, neighbor! This is my first C program.\n");
  return 0;

I am using the following command:

$ gcc 02l01.c
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/3.2/../../../../i686-pc-cygwin/bin/ld: cannot find -luser32
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I have no idea what to do now. I searched google for help but i didn't find anything referring specifically to the -luser32 error. If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it :)

Thanks to all who reply
