- Subject: Command substitution
I wrote a bash shellscript. It is running fine
in the cygwin bash shell an a Windows NT system.
Now I have installed cygwin on my Computer at home running Win98se,
but I don't get an output from the executed command in a command
substition:
# Here is the script:
BASE=D:/WebSites/abc-def.de/web
IDENTIFY=C:/Programme/ImageMagick-5.5.7-Q16/identify.exe
PicPath=$BASE/bilder/greta
Picture=greta_08.jpg
$IDENTIFY -format "%w" $PicPath/$Picture
PicWidth=`$IDENTIFY -format "%w" $PicPath/$Picture; `
echo "Picture With: $PicWidth !"
echo "That's it."
The first call to $IDENTIFY prints the requested value,
the second executed as command substituion does not return
any value:
283
Picture with: !
That's it.
What's wrong with the script ?
Second: less doesn't start.
One DLL is missing: CYGPCRE-0.dll
Why wasn't it installed from install.exe ?
