Not true...
I have Cygwin installed and there is NO c:\cygwin\usr\bin directory
As has been mentioned before, /usr/bin is a *mount* point, not a real directory.
0> mount
C:\cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type system (binmode) <<<<<<<<<<<
C:\cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type system (binmode)
C:\cygwin on / type system (binmode)
