In native mode, rxvt still uses the .Xdefaults file to read settings.
Here's what I'm using right now with it:
rxvt*foreground: gray
rxvt*background: black
rxvt*geometry: 132x50
rxvt*saveLines: 1000
rxvt*scrollBar: true
rxvt*scrollBar_right: true
rxvt*loginShell: true
rxvt*font: DejaVu Sans Mono-13
I'm sure sed is fun, but there's already a more elegant solution to
your problem.
