I made some more tests and I've found the root cause: in fact
/bin/sh -c "cd <directory>"
will not work for a directory in $pwd unless it has a leading "./"
Only bash - when disguised as sh - has this issue, ash for example
does not behave like this.
Do you have an idea how to bypass this?
