Re: 1.7 constantly accesses floppy drive

Lee Maschmeyer wrote:
So $PATH in bash references '/cygdrive/a'?

No, $PATH references c:/windows:

$ echo $PATH
~/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/c/WINDOWS/system32:/c/WINDOWS:/c/WINDOWS/System32/Wbem:/usr/bin:/usr/X11r6/bin:/e /Program Files/Executive Software/Diskeeper/:/usr/lib/lapack

OK, so perhaps your problem and the Windows path shown by 'cygcheck' are two different issues. I'm back to not being sure why you're seeing accesses on your floppy drive. Maybe if you straced a simple operation, you might be able to tell us who, what, when, why, and/or how the floppy drive gets accessed.
