Libxml2 is the XML C parser and toolkit developed for the GNOME project.
XML itself is a metalanguage to design markup languages, i.e. text language
where semantic and structure are added to the content using extra 'markup'
information enclosed between angle brackets. HTML is the most well- known
markup language. Though the library is written in C, a variety of language
bindings make it available in other environments.
This is an update to the latest upstream release, which includes fixes for
CVE-2016-1762, CVE-2016-1833, CVE-2016-1834, CVE-2016-1835, CVE-2016-1836,
CVE-2016-1837, CVE-2016-1838, CVE-2016-1839, CVE-2016-1840, CVE-2016-4447,
CVE-2016-4448, and CVE-2016-4449:
