[Q]: setup.exe: Is it necessary for replace_one to call uninstall on a package ?

Hello,

I see that there is a call to packagemeta::uninstall in the replace_one ()
function (install.cc). However it seems that this call is unnecessary. 
Packages which need to be replaced are uninstalled before replace_one () 
is called - see do_install_thread().

Is this true or am I reading it wrong ? :)
