I wonder if instead of patching rebaseall for every new filetype, we could
instead allow each package to add a custom file list or grep pattern to
some config place (a la /etc/profile.d)?
BTW, your patch will also catch scripts like "bin/concoct" (for example, I
didn't think very hard of a plausible name).
