  I think the texmf maintainer needs to take a look at the issues relating
to post-texmf.sh.  There's something that goes wrong with the perms in there
sometimes[*], and the whole thing frequently takes a *really* long time to
complete.  That would be fair enough if it was doing something a bit more
productive than barfing over hundreds of inaccessible files.... :-O

  Perhaps some of the work can be deferred until first time the app is run?

  Or maybe I should just use the tiny version?
