$ tar --show-defaults
--format=gnu -f- -b20 --quoting-style=escape
--rmt-command=/usr/sbin/rmt.exe

$ ls -lrt

   10240 May  6 11:30 prova1.tar

my guess 20*512= 10240 bytes
