Ok. Just so I understand, maybe you could give a real world example?
I simply don't see how this might be useful. And how does the "export"
option come into play? Wouldn't it make sense to set it by default
and drop the CYGWIN option?
What if we replace the registry options with options read from a file
along the lines of Barry's /etc/cygwin.env idea? The file could be
organized so that you can have per-path options as well.
