For flexibility, I tend to prefer definitions such as:

	NAME=libsigc++3 # should? be a constant never an expression
	FULL=${NAME%[0-9]*}	# or PRETTY=
	BASE=${FULL%++*}
	BASEVER=${VERSION%%.[0-9]*}
	PROJECT=${BASE}plusplus	# or ${FULL//+/plus}
	REL_DL=releases/download
	...

then use, for example:

	SRC_URI=https://github.com/$PROJECT/$PROJECT/$REL_DL/$VERSION/$FULL-$VERSION

	declare ${BASE}${BASE_VER}_CONTENTS=...

YMMV

Also prefer, for example:

	sed -e 's/\(DOT_NUM_THREADS\)\s*=\s*0/\1=1/' -- \

possibly with extra \s* at start and finish of RE, to allow for space
differences in other releases?

From:

	https://libsigcplusplus.github.io/libsigcplusplus/download.html

"Download

Source Packages

The source packages are available from
GitHub releases (*since* 2.10.1 and 3.0.0) and from the
GNOME download site (*until* 2.12.1 and 3.6.0)."

so, as Gnome downloads are finished, go with GitHub for future compatibility.
