gettext-devel and Git Dependency Removal?

Back in July, there had been discussion as to whether Git needed to be a dependency of gettext-devel.

The latest listed version of gettext-devel is 0.22.5-1 from 2024-10-06.

Is anything additional needed before a new gettext-devel package that removes the Git dependency can be released?
