I knew that back when I had Mandrake 6.2. Kept wondering my Pentium 
compiled gcc 3.0 under cygwin for 8 hours, and it took 3 under linux.
With the hacker gone, took 40 minutes to compile 3..4.2 under cygwin.
On a 1.2 GHZ machine.
