gcc -pipe

  Hello!
Sorry for repost, it seems like I'm heving trouble with e-mail.
The problem is when I'm trying to use 'gcc -pipe' on beta 18 to
compile sources, gcc dies silently. Is this a side-effect of
gcc's spawn()ing instead of fork()ing subprocesses?
Or am I missing something important?
