mv deletes file

When I tried this at home, under NT4 server (w/SP3) it deleted the file. 
At work, where I first discovered the problem, I was on NT4 Workstation
(w/SP3), with the files physically on an NT Server via a share.

I will try it later today at work on a local directory.
