Calling mingw32 created dll from VB?

Has anybody succeeded in calling C written DLL routines (created by
mingw32 somehow) from VB? I have a bug report from a user, but since
I know nothing about VB, I'd appreciate comments from others who might
have (un)successfully tried this.
