--print-prog-name=ld fails

I have b19.

gcc --print-prog-name=ld says:

\Cygnus\b19\H-i386-cygwin32\lib\gcc-lib\i386-cygwin32\egcs-2.91.57\..\..\..\..\\i386-cygwin32\bin\ld.exe

Under bash-2.01:

$( gcc --print-prog-name=ld )

says:

...\bin\ld.exe: command not found

This is bad, because it screws up configure.
