NTemacs and gdb: ^M

Hi list,
When trying to use gdb from NTemacs, gdb complains on every command:
Current directory is /usr/emacs-20.3.3.1/

This GDB was configured as "i586-cygwin32".
(gdb) help
Undefined command: "". Try "help".
(gdb) info break
Invalid character '^M' in expression.
(gdb)
does someone have a solution yet? (amazing that all this works, btw!)
