PING: "bash dies unexpectedly" -- fixed in snapshots?

Has anyone tried this?  We had at least two people reporting that bash
died unexpectedly.  Has anyone tried a recent snapshot to see if this
problem is gone?

Since I can't duplicate the problem, I have to rely on you all to tell
me if it is fixed.
