ssh-agent + ssh-add on Win9x?

Greetings,
Has anyone gotten ssh-agent + ssh-add to work on Win9x? I use it all
the time on NT with no problems at all.
I'm using OpenSSH-2.2.0p1 (thanks Corinna!) on Win98, and both ssh and
scp work fine "stand-alone". But I would also like them to work with
ssh-agent.
When I run ssh-agent + ssh-add I get something like this:
> starksb@STARKSB-P$ eval `ssh-agent`
> Agent pid 784679
>
> starksb@STARKSB-P$ ssh-add
> Could not open a connection to your authentication agent.
I do notice:
> starksb@STARKSB-P$ ls -lF $SSH_AUTH_SOCK
> srw-r--r-- 1 starksb unknown 15 Oct 14 00:37 /tmp/ssh-HL776243/agent.776243=
has a different permission than what I'm used to seeing on UNIX
(0700). Is that the problem? I know there's no way to get 0700, and
I don't want ntea. Output from strace suggests that ssh-add doesn't
think it's a socket.
Attached below are output from:
cygcheck -s -r -v
strace ssh-agent
strace ssh-add
Sorry for the 100K message. Thanks for your help.
Regards,
David
