I could reproduce the effect. As a temporary workaround, open
the diff file with vi, set the file to unix mode (:set ff=unix)
and save it back. Then try appling the patch to a clean slrn
source directory. The problem raises only if the patch file
contains CRLF line endings, AFAICS.
