set gid bit

Hi,

i'm getting an error when configuring mailman:

checking permissions on /var/mailman... configure: error: 
***** Installation directory /var/mailman is not configured properly!
***** Set-gid bit must be set for directory: /var/mailman

How do i do set-gid?

chmod 2777 /var/mailman seems to have no effect.
