Interestingly, scp works to these hosts. Perhaps the difference in
debug output is relevant:
scp:
debug1: Entering interactive session.
debug1: fd 0 setting O_NONBLOCK
debug1: fd 1 setting O_NONBLOCK
[copy goes ahead]
ssh:
debug1: Entering interactive session.
[hangs]
