prblm compiling simple .c file !

Remove all the Cygwin files that you put on your system and then goto 
www.cygin.com and click on "Install Now!".  Pick any packages you like
but make sure you choose "gcc" (and I'd recommend "gdb").  "gdb" will
pull in "binutils", which is at least improperly installed for you 
currently (I'm assuming that because you have improperly installed
gcc).  If you want a working installation, you need to use setup.exe,
which you get by following the instructions I gave above.  This list
really can't be responsible for custom installation processes (i.e.
those that don't use setup.exe).  Sorry.
