Somebody else mentioned this earlier -- and explained that Debian did
exactly that. ".deb" files are just ar archives, but .deb implies that
they obey some sort of internal format standard ("CYGWIN-PATCHES" ?
/etc/postinstall? )
I actually think this is a pretty good idea.
